there's already a small boom in social/mobile right now - but it's hard for the public to participate in it unless you program & release a hit; or get lucky enough to get a job @ one of these places (but the stock is probably not *that* great due to the extremely high valuations out of the gate.)

^ I could see a big surge in LEDs. They are comin' up everywhere from cars to TVs - even my book lamp is a LED.
Energy will be a big one, but with current market conditions both in the United States and abroad, there are just to many companies around. I think the number is more around 85% of those will fail within the next 5 years. For the short term, I would say coal is a good bet - especially in the United States.
When the economy picks up, energy prices will as a result and coal is one of the few energies that can increase and keep up with the demand. Energy is a big market, but also one of the most influential. It's a gold mine if you find the right place to invest, but a blackhole if you don't.

I think energy is going to do well. But like many of said, picking the right companies is a challenge, thus I have been buying funds.
Why do you think CSCO will continue to do well? I bought some in my kids accounts in 09 near the bottom, and has done well since. I have not traded it, just held it. Thinking of adding to the position.
Thanks,
