I have been hunting some cheap pieces of land to buy... Dad just recently purchased 1.2 acres on the river for 47k, the people just needed someone to pay it off.. he put a house on it, and is using it as a vacation home for the moment... i am just trying to take advantage of the bad economy

Green Industries seem to be big but what technology. Hydro, Wind, Solar, they can't seem to figure it out. They all seem to have a lot of faults.

Private storage is typically profitable, but why do you see it as a future boom the likes of real estate and .com?

Energy will be a big factor in our future, I'm just not sure if there will be a "boom" per se. It just seems hard to imagine people getting excited about investing in it as a sector.

Tech will never go away, but again, probably not a boom. You just have to take some shots at new technology or trends you like/believe in and see what happens.

Green tech has a good chance at being a bubble. But like the tech bubble, how are you going to choose what you are betting on?

It's more of a business that will continue growing. Not sure about traffic management though.

I visited a company last week that is attempting to grow a biocrude (algae) for energy production. They are doing this within and in conjunction with traditional aquaculture production.

Green Energy wise, I think Algae-based petroleum has ALOT of potential if the companies can commercialize it.

Also, Social gaming has took off, the parent company of Farmville, Zynga, is now valued @ 2.2billion dollars so theres potential in that space.

Lastly, Emerging markets (B.R.I.C.) are not growing as fast as they were, but are still growing nonethless, china was 8% last year and India was 5% or 6%.

Finding the RIGHT opportunities is hard.

more details on 'private storage' please. Going to assume it is places with the little garages for rent to store peoples 'stuff'?

I predict Natural Gas to take off huge over next 5 years. I happen to know about A LOT of exploration in the NE on the Marcellus Shale in Northern Pennsylvania, Southern NY. MAJOR efforts being put out by companies signing land leases and putting wells in.
