    Default Facebook promotion questions!

    Hey guys,
Im starting to become a lot more involved with using Facebook and Instagram as a leading source of advertisement for my business and I have been running into the Facebook promote options a lot. Has anyone linked it up to their business page or at least paid for some sort of a Facebook advertisement? Is it actually worth paying for a hit on the facebook page because of all the random people who troll Facebook a lot with the spammers and what not. Let me know what you guys have done with it or know of any experience with using Facebook advertiement.

    Thanks guys,

    Taylor

How small of a niche is your company? The beauty with FB advertising is you can narrow down your potential customers based on genre, location, education etc etc.

It's a car wash so its pretty small. But the surrounding areas contain a couple hundred thousand people and its a very narrow and simple base of people.

I've had some good experience with putting up an offer and promoting it. Especially for a local business like yours! Come up with an offer that would do great in a "word of mouth" format and promote the offer once it's posted on Facebook.

Pending on how much you spend, you should have the ability to promote the offer to a couple thousand unique users.

What type of car wash do you have?? Reason I ask I have a wash and a Lube center.. I use FB to promote my wash/lube specials, events but I don't see FB as a way to pay for ad hits and moving traffic to your site. I just don't see it working. Let me know

It is a 100% hand car wash and detail shop. We have a jiffy lube on site that takes care of all of that stuff also. Do you get anything out of it? Honestly, I dont understand what to promote and how to control it if I pay by the hit. Can someone explain it a little better?

Your best $$ spent would be on adwords with Google. You can pay my click or impression. Very easy to set up and you can set up a budget per day. Basically, if you have a website you can move people to your site to see your offerings or specials. Set up a special that is only on the Adwords or FB to see how many you get in. It won't be much, maybe like 1-2 a month. I promote to keep my brand in peoples minds so when they do need an oil change or wash/detail they come to me. I do a shit ton of promos and advertises all around my community, billboards and with schools but mostly online. Drive By and word of mouth is the best return by far, plus it's free. You could also set up a referral program.

I've been playing with the "promote" option. On my fan page it's $5 to promote a post. Comes up at top of news feed for three days at either choice of fans only or fans and friends of fans. The amount of exposure and interaction has grown exponentially with it as we'll as getting new fans. We'll see if any converts to sales.

Ho long have you been doing this? I have noticed that it can be sort of easy to get new people to hear about the car wash, go to more car meets and all of that, but this is the only way to do it for me because i cant be there to do evrything that full advertisement would. I wonder if you have gotten any sales from it yet.

We have a good location and a definite knowledge around our area because weve been here for 18 years now but I want to add on to our persona. My dad built it to what it is today, but some times you just need some help and this definitely is a must for us. I feel like the more we do on facebook/instagram than it will only help our business especially done correctly. So, is it worth to set up a promo with facebook? You get a noticeable amount of people referring to the facebook page or instagram?

I find the Instagram demographic to still be fairly young, however Facebook has all types of people. I started playing with the "Promote" option about 2 weeks ago. I have no direct sales from it yet. However I have had my fan page going for over a year and it does get the word out. We only have about 550 fans, and a lot are people that I know. There are many times what conversation gets started with people because they say they have seen what I'm posting on Facebook for work. So while I haven't received a direct sale yet, people are definitely being made aware of what I do.

I have just started a second career in Real Estate and started a brand new page for that as well. Only has about 80 fans so far, but I have shared one of my listings on it and have already gotten a showing lined up because of it. So I'd say the few minutes a day spend updating the fan page is worth it.
