Default Why no redbox for music?

Just a thought, but why is there no kiosk where I can rent a CD for 1.25 a day, go home and burn it and return it when I feel like?

This obviously cant be done with movies, but it can be with music.

Recently I started buying physical music again after learning that music I "buy" online is nothing more than an indefinite lease...the ****!??

My wife and I like the same kind of music and I often find myself borrowing her CD's to burn on my computer instead of buying them, however there is a long list of music that I want, and if I could pay $62.50 for 50 CD's, I would do it right now.

    Rent a CD?

The last time I bought a CD was in 2002.

^ I don't know much about the rarity or value of vinyls, but those may not go well in the hands of a renter who tends to mistreat rental equipment.

^^ Yes, rent a CD, because all that music you have on itunes does not belong to you. Eventually you will walk away with nothing. Cd's at least can be burned and uploaded to the cloud where you have 100% ownership and control.

the point is - why would labels let you do this, knowing this is the exact behavior that would ensue?
