If I was in your situation I would definitely look into buying land/property, one with low maintenance/ cost of ownership etc.
    May I suggest Nigeria?

Exactly what I was going to say. Maybe take some time off and research individual stocks if you really want to, and real estate investing because some of the $200k would be quite a nice down payment somewhere (I mean really research, don't watch CNBC and read Robert Kiyosaki's shit).

I would buy a small cheap house, 20k foreclosure type deal. I would buy a Graffunder safe (10-15k) and bolt it in. Then I would drop 140k on silver bullion. Put 25k in your checking and go about your regular job and work like nothing happened. 10 years from now, you'd be done and done.

lol whats with all the dislike towards him? I know he had some threads a while back that were quite popular...

has anyone actually read his book? just wondering

OP, I take it you have, or will at some point receive 200k. Just don't do what my cousins did by spending it all on cars and other material shit then wonder what happened to all of it.

I'd take a look at real estate tax liens. They are basically guaranteed investments backed the the local and state government, similar to bonds.
