Default Buying a domain from 3rd party / trademarks

I found a domain I like unfortunately it's owned by some company called MDNH.com and is being parked. I made an offer but I don't really know how this is supposed to work.. The domain is 16 letters long and two words in total. I made an offer of 1,100.00 ..I have no idea if thats a respectable bid.

I mean, do I just give them a check and hope they transfer the domain to my godaddy account?..do I call a escrow company?..call a attorney?.. call godaddy?...what?

I'm stressed out because all the good domains either cost a shit load and even if he accepts my bid, what about trademarks? From reading Patent and trademark office website I need to call a lawyer to help file the T.M . Well fvck. In my past experiences anything involving a attorney is both costly and time consuming, but it looks like I don't really have an option. Either I pay to have someone who knows how to do this stuff and knows what to look for, or i do it myself and hope I don't get sued in the future for trademark infringement. lovely .

It costs something like 300 dollars to file a trademark here. You can do it your self ... or get a company like legalzoom to take care of it.

Please dont host through go daddy, they are terrible and always find little ways to screw you over. There are tons of private hosting companies (including myself and others on here) that will set you up with a nice year package. Shoot me a PM if you need any help

Then I should be able to get it at a good price. I like it because the name flows together and sounds perfect.

Never had an issue with godaddy but I notice their pricing isn't the lowest either, but their customer service is top notch.

You cannot determine a price by simply looking at the letters. The name of the domain certainly has importance.

    StockExchange.com
may be 13 letters but would easily be worth 500k+

    axqw.com
is 4 letters but paying 500k would be ludicrious.

Value just as much on the content.

First and foremost, why would you make an offer without knowing their asking price?
Sales and Negotiations 101: Have the seller state their price first.

Pool.com does a great job of moderating the escrow process and transferring of domains as this is core to their business.

    Absolutely, 100% right.

You NEVER just make an offer. You always contact them to see if it is for sale first and go from there. And I agree that 16 letters is far too long.

I'd check out Legal Zoom abut what to do.
