Default [DYNO VIDEO] Tecnocraft E9X M3 Envy Intake System 18HP gains!!!

A few cold, hard facts, to keep in mind when taking in this dyno information:
-Gintani Motorsports (GINTANI) is based in Van Nuys, CA and has increasing brand reputation for building beautiful, reliable and downright powerful supercharger systems for BMWs, and specifically ///M3s of all flavors. Dyno runs were completely supervised by Gintani owner, Alex, with a few other key eyewitnesses to the dyno runs. Upon arrival, Alex immediately stated, "Good luck on my dyno."
-Dynos were performed with only two kinds of filters, stock and aFe, a BMC filter was not attainable at time of dyno, and to our shock was left out of the dyno tests (even though it is blatantly advertised with the ENVY™ system package).
-After dyno calibration, verified by Alex to be correct against the 3 other E9X ///M3s that were at the location, the car was cooled for 30 minutes.
-Dyno runs were then performed ALL in a row, with matching "cool times" between each series of runs when changing intake parts.
-The video was filmed completely straight through, but edited to be under 6 minutes.

If anyone has any additional questions about the validity of these dyno runs, please call Gintani or his staff, as Tecnocraft is non-affiliated with anything they even produce or manufacture as a product...well... for now at least .

Why are the numbers so low to begin with? Stock E92's dyno roughly 350whp. I would think even the most conservative of dynos should show more than 313 to the wheels of a stocker.

Do you know if adaptation was reset before the initial runs or was the car run as it showed up in stock form?
It would be interesting to see results of the full system after adaptation has occurred.

A DYNODYNAMICS is probably the world's most conservative dyno ever. Observing the numerous other stock M3 files, maaicher's ///M3 had just about the same baseline, hovering around 310 whp +/- 3whp. As far as dyno'ing M3s go, I would gladly oblige to an official response from Alex@Gintani as 90% of their everyday customer base is BMW. Please feel free to follow up with them. It is true, though, it's definitely a heartbreaker dyno.

Sounds like the Dyo Dynamics might be a little too conservative as BMW might be in a spot of trouble if their cars were making that much less than advertised... I doubt they're losing close to 25% in drivetrain loss.
Not that overall numbers at all matter for testing... conservative or not, if it's consistant then you're in business. Lord knows dyno results don't always show real world anyway... especially when trying to duplicate a ram air effect.
Based on the results it looks like the intake is working well... probably better in real world driving.
I'd still like to see some post-adaptation numbers.

We used to use a SuperFlow, also a conservative heartbreaker dyno, but extremely accurate. Needless to say I was pleased to see 306whp out of my E46 M3 on it.

The ENVY will be dyno'd again on Monday on a RDSport Stroker 4.6 E92 ///M3, though the vehicle is not a Tecnocraft customer/development vehicle at all, this customer merely needs the car to "breathe as much as possible"... and I may have misunderstood your inquiry. The particular M3 in question wasn't "reset" to learn at all before performing the dyno, it was literally driven right onto the DYNODYNAMICS, calibrated, and had its wheels spun through multiple runs...so these numbers are post-adaptation numbers with an M3 that has ~11K+ miles.

Understood. However, if the intake was put on and only driven on the dyno then adaptation has not occurred WITH the intake.

I trust the results much more than if the car were an E46 M3. E46 M's use a mass airflow sensor and can produce false gains when an intake is simply bolted on and run on the dyno, but given the fact that the E9X M3's don't use MAF sensors I think the results you posted here are much more believable.

It would still be interesting to see if after a couple hundred miles the results were the same.

I look forward to seeing the results on the RD Sport stroker as well.

Please forgive my skepticism. I think the ENVY system is a great product... I just like to gather ALL the data before I make recommendations.
