Hybrid technology is pretty funny..............
So the cars get more MPG and emit less emissions... I get that.
however... where do the batteries end up once they are done.....? The landfill........
And what is the cost to replace the batteries and to service hybrid cars at say 50K/75K miles? Amortize that cost across the time spent with the car and tell me how this works out to be financially or environmentally responsible?
I'll take a clean diesel car any-day over a hybrid.-Kurt

i have a daily driver 2003 Civic Hybrid with 241k miles and still on its original batteries, and that's a one of the 1st gen Hybrids... i can imagine that they are building much better batteries now. and it only needs oil changes every 3k miles.
there is a guy with a MILLION miles on his original batteries on his Civic Hybrid.Last edited by Seven11; 10-29-2012 at 11:36 PM.
