E92 M3 Track-/Fun-tool build Thread
So, after a long and hard brainstorm, i finally had the guts to put a roll bar in my car.
and when that decision fell, i just thought " what the hell, lets build a track car"
Yesterday i picked it up from Car-Diff, the leading manufacturer for Rollbars and Cages in Germany. i really love the race-car look
The Rollbar is completely custom made. they had never caged an E92 bevor but they did an exceptional job !
also i went for full bucket seats, these are Recaro SPG XL's. the second seat will be installed next week.
the seat is much more comfy than it looks, altho it was a 6-hour drive from Cologne back home to munich, i had no problems at all, hence my back starts to hurt in bucket seats very fast.
also these seats are super low, i can barely look over the steering wheel, i feel much more "in the car" than before. I am also running Schroth 4-point harnesses.
i also ordered some new tires, Michelin Pilot-Cup. and as i wanted some new wheels anyway i went and bought a set of satin black OZ ultraleggera HLT. i think they suit the car very well.
so now there are a lot of flashing lights in the dash, because there have been no software-changes so far, but that is also to come next week.
i Installed the Awron automotive display, its an awesome gadget. it replaces one AC vent int the center dash, so it is completely integrated and looks completely OEM. you can switch between different informations, Torque, HP, Max. reached everything, exhaust gas temp, intake air temp, ....etc. pretty much every thing you can wish for.
in 2 weeks i am getting a carbon fibre hood, carbon fiber Trunklid, the Front splitter from the M3 GT4 racing car and the GTS rear spoiler installed.
and last but not least its going to be wrapped in BMW racing colors, for the full "race car" look
also in winter i am going to install new AP racing brakes in the front and rear, but i want to finish off this set of Pads and Discs first, as i don't want to waste them and i still have 3 track days this year before winter
i am currently discussing prices with dinan for a 4.6 L stroker kit. i really want that, as i am no big fan of supercharger, but much rather an enthusiast of naturally aspirated engines.
but enough talk, here some Pictures how it looks so far

Thanks for reading
i hope you like it.
i will Post new Pictures as soon as all the Carbon parts are installed, and when its wrapped.Last edited by MAAXXII; 09-01-2012 at 04:22 PM.

If u suddenly burst in to flames on the track XD

It makes absolutely no sense to put out a burning car ( if the fire is not endangering anything/anyone else ) Better let it burn to the ground. if you "save" the car the insurance will only pay for a repair, not the whole
car.
And also i don't really get whats so damn funny about that ?Last edited by MAAXXII; 09-01-2012 at 06:59 PM.

He was just kidding because of how many people put fire extinguishers in their cars for the "race car look".
On a side note you have my all time favorite BMW look going on. The E92 with the carbon accents on the front and on the rear decklid. I'll definitely be interested to see how this thread turns out. Keep the updates coming!

they also have a special upgraded one that comes with a PSI sensor for supercharged M3's. so you can also have a boost-gauge.
maybe that would be interesting for you.
