Thread: I made the switch to BMW. From...BMW.

So as some of you may know I've been looking for a new car and to sell mine (still need to sell my black 335 - 2007 BMW 335i - Clean - WARRANTY!). I've driven a 6 series, decided I wanted something a little newer than an e39 M5, but also wanted to lower my payments so I can look for property, and still have something sporty.

This became kind of a tough combination of wanting something fairly new, mixing luxury, sport, not giving up the feel of my 335, but definitely giving up a) having a black car, b) having a sedan, and c) my current payments.

So, I decided to do this:





Will post more photos over the next couple of days but this is the best I can do for now (JUST picked it up and only had my shitty Blackberry camera).

Even though it's another '07 335i I feel like I'm driving a completely different car. I love the look & feel of the coupe, and definitely love the color combination. Plus it's got unlocked XM radio for life.

And the kicker, my payments are substantially lower than they were, for essentially the "same car."

I don't get the payments side of it all - You leased/financed a 2007 car in 2012? The other thing I don't understand is the craiglist list has a purchase price not a lease takeover ad. Really not a criticism of your choices, I always applaud lower monthly payments. I really just dont understand.

Just wanted to say congrats again buddy! I know a bunch of people were giving you sh*t about going from a 335 sedan to 335 coupe and that it isn't a big deal but after driving my 330i, I completely understand how that would be for an upgrade. Drive her in good health my friend!

PLAYDIUM - As much as I'd like to not have a car payment I don't have $xx,xxx saved to just pay cash for a car, so, I take out an auto loan.

It's a long story but I was upside down on the Acura I had before the BMW & also bought a warranty on the black 335 so I had to roll extra money into the loan in order to cover everything - so my payments overall were higher.

I got a spectacular deal on this car so financing a lower amount = lower monthly payments. There will be a day when I can make a 5 or 6 digit purchase by writing a check, but until then, loans it is.
