Anyone ever owned or driven a 1988-1991 e30 M3??
I have been looking for a low mileage e30 M3 for quite some time. I have found that they are quite difficult to find in good shape..most are hacked to hell. Anyway, has anyone ever owned one of these older bmw's? Any advise on them? I have noticed that they seem to be heavy on the maintanance.
Thoughts??

I owned one new for a couple of years, starting back in 1990. Not much maintenance back then, and all under warranty. One of those I wish I hadn't let get away. Nowadays, I'm always looking for a nice one, but most of them have significant miles.
Very athletic and poised. You have to work to get real speed out of that engine, but that's part of the fun. Plus there are millions of mods and swaps you can do. Absolutely get one, and restore / mod away.Russ

I've owned one and I regret selling it more than I can express with words. The car is an absolute blast to drive. As Russ said you've got to work hard to get speed out of it but it is so rewarding to drive. Get one don't look back. Even the hack cars deserve a good home.
