Default American Airlines buys 260 Airbus Planes!

As a European in the aviation industry I am of course more than happy about this deal.

Finally Airbus can put its foot down in America with a major player!

^^haha. true. But they cant be worse than Delta, that is impossible. But everytime I look at AA's fleet, I am surprised that it took them so long to decide on modernising it. I think for the last 2 years or so, they've been in the negative...

The new A320 NEO is a pretty big hit in the industry.

I fly American and have miles with them...I think they are a great company. First class is always nice, especially in the 777

I think it's a terrible decision, especially in these times and since there is no advantage that I can see in what I have read about both planes.

Airlines must have a extreme amount of over head cost.

American's service seems to vary regionally. Around here it's best to avoid them at all cost. Out of my last five trips on American at least one leg of the flight was cancelled or delayed (not weather related) and they lost my bags twice. Once I got them back in a week, the other they were never recovered. I do my best to stick with either Continental or Southwest depending on where I am going.
