And then there is the thought of trying it with a airplane!!! I have friend who fly on and off aircraft carriers for a living. Sometimes they have trouble landing on something that isn't moving.

Nuts! Chopper pilots don't get enough credit for what they do. I know an ex military pilot from viatnam. The storys he has are crazy

I wouldnt want to be anywhere near that thing when its coming in to land on that ship. I think they apply tension to the blades towards the ground and then they latch it into the actual pad, not sure though!
