Is this a paid shoot?
A world where medical advances allow us to live forever is a terrifying thought...

Jets are not cheap by any means and a lot of people that own the mega planes don't bother with social networking or just don't care to have their planes with tail numbers recorded.
Best bet is to contact the airports or charter companies. Either way, you are probably going to have to throw down for this

Think about it this way, the manufacturer already provides them with the stock photos and to be honest with you the people that own jets and can spend ($5-60mil on a bird) already have it made and DON'T want national exposure especially for a possession. The people I know with jets ranging from hawkers to g550s DO NOT want or NEED the attention. They are already successful individuals and VALUE their privacy.
The type that would want to go around flaunting their aircraft are celebrities and musicians but 99.99% of them DON'T own - they charter and the one's who do own - good luck getting them oblige to a start up - no offense. If it was Rolling Stone or a major publication then maybe that's a different story. It's just the reality
You're better off calling up charter companies and asking them for a plane to shoot. Yes you will have to pay - probably in the 4 figure range. However, you aren't the first to want to shoot an airplane in a backdrop and they have done stuff like this before

^Yeah man people are dicks most of the time and don't care about you at all. Sadly most people suck. And once they've made it, they don't have to pretend anymore to go around liking all these phony people. Persistence is key man keep going at it
Like I said man, contact the airports and charter companies and tell them your story, I'm sure you can work something out with them. I've read about people doing it to shoot lifestyle ads for like insurance policies, luxury living, blah blah blah

^^Haha I'm the same way man! I will do it for my own personal satisfaction of just doing it but to also prove that I can do it, I did it - and to stick it right back in the haters faces - and that brings great satisfaction

Just a suggestion, but if the type of plane doesn't really matter I would suggest checking out some of the smaller airfields in california or anywhere else your going on your trip. IF hey are anything like the airport here, you could probably get in and take pictures without too much trouble. Especially some of the really small private landing strips and such. You might only get a cessna or piper, but it would be an aircraft ( do to comments you've made I'm assuming the theme is more aircraft orientated then luxury lifestyle.
Also if you still coult find anything and the planes dont need to move, maybe check out some musuems. You could tke your pick of all kinds of aircraft at that point.
Last option is to see if there are charter services you could talk like was previously mentioned. If its smaller company and your offering exposure you might get some more hits.
Good Luck!

Hope Godfather can help you out.
If not i had 3 things in mind:
1) does the shoot have to be in LA? Europe has more of a luxury market and you can connect with jet charter companies on ASW.
2) You can check with Aimee or Raw since L4P recently had an 'Autos & Aviation' event... maybe they can give you some contacts.
3) This might sound lame and you might hate me for it but if nothing else works, you can do a shoot in on a strip and Photoshop the Jet in...And im being serious here, as a start up entrepreneur, you have to do all kinds of odd stuff to make things work. Besides, i know you're good enough in PS to make the picture look real.
