Highly recommended to take a "discovery" or "test" flight with a school to make sure you want to do it!
A lot of people jump into it and find they aren't THAT into it. Take a discovery flight will allow you the opportunity to make certain you're interested in pursuing a license.“Formal education will make you a living. Self education will make you a fortune.”

I would agree with the discovery flight and also dont be afraid to ask to meet the instructor first... you are going to be spending alot of time together in close proximity. some people just clash with each other nothing particularly wrong it just doesnt work and if thats the case you probably dont want to be spending time with them and as a result flying will leave a bad taste in your mouth. Also dont be afraid to bring something up to the instructor, trust me (coming from the other side here) as an instructor if i dont know something is troubling you I can help you with it so speak up.

Clear all the tall stuff, and you'll be fine.
