If you think that's funny/frustrating, try interacting with the military in some countries.
It's not so much the accents/dialects but just plain hardheadedness/chauvinism. Just imagine that same conversation with a female ground controller.

I work with airchina on a daily basis and its worse with some than others (as you would expect), Im the guy who teaches them how to fly initially. They are some of the most motivated people i have met but sometimes they have some difficulties especially with the language barrier and it can get ineresting in the cockpit when you want one thing and they do a completely different thing. There are some great stories out there.
