He said most of the cool stuff they're using it for is classified but he said they are using it a lot in local police departments for high speed chase/surveillance. Also he has ones for pipeline inspections and Pirate monitoring off the coast of Somalia
The owner is literally the badass of all badasses. He is ex-CIA, ex Special Forces, retired and ballin now. I wanna get to know him so I can hear the crazy stories b/c from what I hear he has some to tell lol.
Supposedly what inspired the UAV was the fact that he had to go retrieve a downed drone in Afghanistan and lost a few of his men in the process b/c the data can't be remotely wiped or something.

Crazy and so cool... More info and specs would be great.
Success seems to be largely a matter of hanging on after others have let go.
You see a mousetrap - I see free cheese and a f*$king challenge

Click the top link in the original post. That will take you to their website directly.
Here is some info I copied from it.
Features of Unmanned Air Systems
The advantages of using an Unmanned Air Vehicle, relative to use of a manned helicopter, such as a Bell Jet Ranger, are that the UAV:
A patrol officer or administrative support staff member can be trained to fly and maintain a UAS in as little as 60 hours. This is a significant cost saving, and you are not affected by any pilot shortages.
Can stay aloft for up to 3 hours, performing a precise, repetitive, faster scan of a region day-after-day, night-after-night in complete darkness, or, in fog, under computer control. This repetitive type of flying could drive a pilot to distraction, and ultimately lead to an incident.
Performing continual surveillance of an incident scene
Performing visual or thermal imaging of a region, neighborhood, house or vehicle
Measuring cell phone, radio, or, TV coverage over any terrain
Advantages
A UAS can fly day-after-day, night-after-night, in dangerous weather conditions, for up to 3 hours at a time, on an accurate flight path, under computer control.
A UAS can be airborne within minutes of mission authorization.
The operating costs of a UAS is approximately 11% of a manned helicopter which includes the difference in fuel expenditure (3.25 gallons per hr in a UAS versus 28 gallons per hr in a Bell Jet Ranger), maintenance, and pilot pay.
A UAS is substantially safer than a full sized helicopter since a UAS can easily auto rotate to the ground in a controlled landing even with a complete failure of the main engine. Although full size helicopters may be able to perform this function with a highly skilled pilot, it often results in significant damage to the aircraft as well as injury to the pilot.
A UAS can perform a thermal scan of a building or structure and assess suspect location, and in some conditions, determine if the individual(s) are armed. Imagine the advantage provided to an entry team in the following scenarios; high risk warrant, hostage rescue, domestic violence, etc.
Since a UAS can follow a precise flight path, they can fly close to each other to complete a survey in far less time than would be required for a manned aircraft.
An advantage in using several unmanned aircraft concurrently is that if a UAS develops a fault in any of its systems, it can quickly be replaced by a back-up UAS, ensuring the assigned task is always completed on time.
Several unmanned aircraft can also measure data in the same location in a survey, to provide quality data, by removing any instrument drift or errors in a dramatically short of time.
It can fly safely at low altitudes, to include alleyways, parking structures, warehouses, etc.
Network Centric approach in which data from each UAS in flight updates a server computer in real time, allowing users to view the latest information, via the Internet from any terminal designated by the operators, (i.e. the Chief of Police as well as the Mayor of a municipality can view an incident in real time from their respective offices.)
