    Default Canadian Jet Pilot Escapes Crash

    Just came across this. Shows a plane crash in southern Alberta during an airshow on July 23, 2010. The pilot is currently in the hospital recovering from his injuries. He is very lucky to be alive.

    That would be the pilot setting up for the high alpha pass. Unfortunately either pilot error, engine failure or flight control problems led to him departing the jet from controlled flight. Unless doing a flight demonstration we are not allowed to perform this manuever below 5,000 feet AGL. Glad the pilot is recovering.

    Added another video just now with some much closer footage and apparently, you can see that he ejected.
