Thank you for the kind words.

For those of you in Southern California, the B-17 will be part of the Planes Of Fame air show in Chino, Ca on May 15th. PLANES OF FAME
Your destination isn't nearly as important as how good you look getting there!

    Hey, I know Fuddy!

I flew (right seat only) that B-17 while it was part of the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, NY years ago.

Here you will see it parked with it's little sister, my 38 Juliette.

I -believe- that particular plane was at one time Gen Eisenhower personal transport, and is the B-17 you see flying down between the hangars in the Steve McQueen film "The War Lover".

There was a B-17 in/out of Columbia SC yesterday/today. Didn't get a close enough look at it to see which one it was.

Thanks for sharing. I have been all over that plane but never in it while air born.

Here are some shots of Fuddy with a few of his "friends" ... late 80's in Geneseo, NY. I think it was 1989 (the one pic is dated 91, but I think that is when I uploaded it to somewhere later) that was the "Heavy Bomber Reunion" in Geneseo at the NWM. With all the warbirds (including 8 B-17's, 1 short of a full wing) we had there that year, I -think- it constituted the 8th or 9th largest airforce in the world.

    BTW.... Fuddy has new friends.

He shares a hanger with a B-25 that we also polished.
