Best part is the tower at MacDill was probably like where the **** is this C-17 that is cleared for landing!?

I grew up under the flightline less than a mile from MacDill, and I've spent a lot of time at the park adjacent to Peter O Knight. Hard to believe a plane that big could land/take off from that small runway, let alone a pilot mistake that airport for MacDill.
I mean, the approach is from the same direction but damn... theres houses 100 yards from the runway... clearly not an air force base. lol2009 CLS550

I'm glad the concrete didn't buckle under the aircraft's weight. A small runway like that isn't designed to hold the tons that the c-17 packs.
