Fifth gear did a crash test for a head on collision involving 2 cars traveling at 60 MPH each.
The Focus would have had to go 240 MPH in order to be the equivalent of a 120 MPH car crash with 2 cars both going that speed. However the Focus was going 120 MPH into a wall, which is completely different due to the type of collision. I don't think I'd want to see a Focus hit a wall at 240 MPH though, there are things in life you don't want to see. This crash does give a good idea as to what would happen if you hit a bridge at 120 MPH though. The above video is much more realistic for a head on collision at highway speeds, as energy is lost during recoil.Last edited by FastFords; 10-23-2011 at 09:16 PM.
