I love nissans, so I am biased to say 370z. I would say get the manual because synchrorev is really entertaining.
I would only buy the BMW is it was manual and certified. I see so many being sold because they need 80k-100k maintenance which is insanely expensive.
What about the 335i? A couple of mods and it becomes a very nice daily driver.

Blasphemy!!! Drive a BMW that is not an ///M car? How dare thee, man?! Only mere commoners (and many a college coed) drive "BMW"s with more than two alphanumeric characters!
Kidding aside, the 335d is an ideal sleeper daily sled. A chip, intake and exhaust and that baby will pull an M3 off the line. It's clearly not an ///M, but it's a crazy good DD with outstanding fuel economy for the torque it puts out. De-badge it to keep the kiddies guessing!

I currently own a bolt on 370z but I have driven both a fair amount (E46 M3 6MT) and wanted to add my two cents.
E46 M3:
Pluses:
-Refined, especially the drive-train compared to the Z.
-Comfortable, has good road manners.
-Precise and a good handler, but I think it does not always feel "alive" but it is very communicative and precise
Cons:
-I tend to not like cars as much if I see them all over the place and there are a billion E46 M3s in Socal.
-It does look fairly plain which I like at times, but other times I wish it stood out a bit more (can be done through a few tasteful mods).
-Aftermarket parts are significantly more expensive.
370z:
Pluses:
-Underrated, the 'less obvious' choice. I love a car that you don't see on every street corner, it also looks great in my opinion with some tasteful mods.
-Only needs an oil cooler, brake pads and fluid to track ($700 or less) which if you want to do a lot of track driving, you should really do this for any car.
-Interior quality is good, a big step up from the 350z and on par with the M3.
-A lot of fun to drive, it's a willing dance partner when the going gets twisty
-Is surprisingly fast with a few bolt ons: I have long tube intakes, high flow cats, cat-back exhaust, and a tune and the Z pulls on DCT E90 M3s, stage 2 STIs, and it out ran my friend's SMG bolt on E46 M3.
Cons:
-The drive-train is a bit unrefined and noisy. It is bullet proof though.
-Doesn't have the same pedigree as the M3.
-Not as practical if that is something that is of interest to you.
I tried to be as unbiased as possible haha, but I love my Z and while I would have bought a M3 over a 370z before I owned the Z, I now definitely prefer the 370z for both driving dynamics and the fact that it looks a feels special to me after having it for over a year.

When will people realize BMW's are THE WORST cars on the road. I don't understand how anyone can like them.
The lack of power, 2nd rate handling, quality of paint, depreciation, etc is just ridiculous.A world where medical advances allow us to live forever is a terrifying thought...
