panoz as a whole is still a small company, most people know the esperante. i know the AIV i've never seen one in person though.

i've seen a couple esperante's in person tho. a guy brought a blue one into the bmw dealer i worked at in exton, PA he sold it in late 2010 in West Chester, PA. the other one, black i saw at a charity event a couple months ago.

i'd love to own an esperante but not the AIV

This - I'd like some more power to an Esperante though. Weren't they rated around just 385hp stock?

Panoz has some very "polerizing" designs. You either love them or hate them.
I, personally, don't like the esperante. They look like someone melted the bodywork or something. I can't put my finger on it exactly, but it looks like the bumpers are dripping.
I think the roadster/AIV is kinda cool, though. It's like an americanized Lotus 7/Caterham...much better roadster attempt than the Prowler was.

One of my coworkers has a friend who was an engineer at Panoz until a few years ago (he defected to Yamaha Powersports). If you have specific questions about the roadster I'm sure I could put you in touch. He was there during that era.
    wait......what?

I went for a drive in the AIV with a Panoz test driver a number of years ago, what an absolute fun car! Didn't have a license back then but would love to get behind the wheel of one now. I've kept my eyes out for one but rarely see them come up for sale.

305hp stock for both AIV and Esperante. Come on, the 4.6 Modular Ford was not that powerful in stock form.

I've only seen an Esperante at a local dealer a long time ago. Remember it not selling for at least 3 years. The dealership drove it around from time to time to various shows but I don't know anyone who has ever owned one.
