Just a couple of scale race cars.
While at Laguna Seca, I made the mistake of stepping into the "die cast car" tent and emerged almost $200 less in the wallet!
I generally have been good at not buying them at such venues and I've been to both Seca and Infineon quite a bit over the last 10 years but there were two cars in particular (well 3 but I didn't take pictures of it) that I just had to puchase:
The BMW in particular reminded me of a silver 3.0CSI I used to pass every day in San Francisco as a kid from around 1972 - 1980 before I moved out of the city. IMO, it was the best looking BMW of the 70's bar none.
In the 80's it was the Audi Quattro car that originally caught my attention, especially in rally form, but the Audi 90 was like a German version of NASCAR only better (it could turn right too.)
Both these cars were wild looking and that's what made them special to me.
The 3rd diecast is another dear to the heart car: the McLaren M20; this one was painted in Peter Revson #4 Orange and Black, the car he won in 1972 at Laguna Seca. I'm just a huge fan of the old CAN-AM cars.2005 Factory Five MkIII Roadster
