Improvements on car shows?
What do you like/dislike about car shows? Is there anything you'd like to see or have happen at one of these events? How can a car show/event be taken to the next level?
Ciao,
Jon

I'm going to date myself but back in the 80's the Car Craft street machine nationals were so much fun, there were things to do driving games bikini contests they would put a brick on the gas and let a Ford, Chevy and Dodge run at WOT till they blew up just to see which one lasted longest and I forgot to mention they drained the water and oil. I think a car show should entertain more than just walking around and looking at the cars?

Get rid of all of them except Top Gear and Evo Mag and force them to air at least one episode every week of the year.
Less car vs. fighter jet, man on a bike and cheap car challenges etc.

the one's near me are for the most part all american muscle/sport, nothing really exotic. i thought seth rose joining would help change that, but it doesn't seem like much gets posted in the NE section. every few months we do euro shows that bring a lot of audi/vw/bmw.
basically what i dont like about car shows, it seems the people whom organize them are out of touch with what people drive now. back in the 60's yea, muscle was the in thing, and while they'e still awesome now, since the 70's that's changed.- Dave
most of what i say is a joke, unless it's serious

This is why i'm asking you guys what you want vs going off of what I think you want.
At car shows, usually after one walk around there is nothing to do. Sit by your car or friends and talk. I'm looking for ideas so that its very interactive with everyone and not so boring.
It would be more of once a month so that it gives people something to look forward to and doesn't become boring.Ciao,
Jon

give it a theme. lead east is done about 20 miles from me, they have a 50's theme...including the cars. but guys walk around in rolled up jeans and white t-shirts(think james dean in the last rebel) and women in the 50's style dresses and hair. its a great to go to even if to just enjoy the atmosphere. granted this show has to be 20-30yrs old so they know what they're doing

Two pieces of criticism:
1) Spread the cars out...
2) Get them off the grass...
