    Default Instinctive or Intellectual

I attended Skip Barber over the summer and I remember my instructor saying I was a far more instinctive, natural, clever driver than a intellectual, technical driver. Has anyone ever heard of these comparasions and if so, what do you fall under?

    Yes, and its true.

The "better" driver will always be the instinctive one.

The intelllectual driver will probably the saver one which is more important for daily, public driving.

A wild guess would be that I'm more of an instinctive driver.

But being an naturally instinctive driver with a fair bit of brains might be the best way.

There is the other side to the difference which has more to do with racing:
An instinctive drive will try something and just deal with the out come where as the intellectual will pre-calculate every move. Both have there place and when working as a team there is the big benefits of a good pace while maintaining the car. The easiest way to compare the two (in my opinion) is tire wear. Usually the intellectual make the tire last longer.
