i would look in to....uhhh like everyone said you cant have it all. i would stay from trying to have a fast first car...... it just dont work..
i would look in to any GM with a 3800 series motor...or a nice old BMW or benz...
for something faster i would look at an SC300 lexus (2JZ motors) or an old Z28 or something...
300ZX....have you looked under the hood?? have fun working on that...same with the stelth's....timing chains at 60K LOL"Entrepreneurship is living a few years of your life like most people won't, so that you can spend the rest of your life like most people can't."

under the hood of an n/a 300 and stealth is pretty simple, if you have a mechanical brain its easy to figure out...trust me, the turbos are a living f'n nightmare under the hood, n/as not even close to as bad

Don't get a turbo car as a first car. In that price range it is either going to have a lot of miles or have been poorly maintained. That is just another headache. My first car was a 94 Camaro, picked it up for 1k. Learned to work on it myself, it gave me 2 good years with trips to Cleveland from Pittsburgh. Total I had about 3k in parts + 1k in car. Then I drove it into a Telephone pole.
Also, the car shined up real nice and everyone loved it, Camaro's weren't too popular around where I lived and I was that kid.
Find a car you like, learn to wrench, leave money in your budget for immediate repairs. And keep it clean, I mean like vacuum it and stuff, those old cars can get real grungy.
edit:I don't know where you're buying it from, but all of my cars have been...hood cars...can't hurt to have your local PD walk the drug dog around it immediately after purchase."We can change the future, but the past is only written once, so leave your mark." -Slomaro

There's a lot of used cars in that range.
Antithetical because the 918 Spyder is out of your budget.
That is about 150 more HP than you need in your first car, if you don't want to lose your license for speeding tickets, general hoonassery, and the like. Save the points on your license for when you can afford a properly fast car. There are only four sports: bullfighting, motor racing, mountaineering, and troll hunting; all the rest are merely games.
