Plastidip my entire car?
Anyone ever do this? A buddy of mine did this to his B8 S4 (first in matte black) didn't like it and it came off very easily (took him maybe 5 minutes). Next he experimented with matte white and it looks fantastic and I'm highly considering doing this, especially since I can always take it off. My question is anyone else mess with plastidip? Going to buy a can tomorrow to test on some surfaces. Thanks

Plastidip is pretty much a spray that you can use on any surface (most people I've seen used it for car logos or their wheels) but my friend decided to try it on his car since it works on any surface really. It gives the car a satin matte finish and if done right can look great. Also its 100% washable and removable just by tearing it off. My friends S4s paint had no problems with the clear coat still on.
Stores like Home Depot and Lowes carries it but usually don't have white (and it took my friend 13 cans do this so I'll probably order mine through Amazon. My car is grey with black accents so I think a matte white with black accents would be a nice change for a bit.
I'll definitely let L4P know how this goes but if anyone has any experiences with Plastidip feel free to let me know. Appreciate it.

Does this come in clear? Can it be washed like normal?
I would want to hear from a detailer to make sure it isn't damaging the surface of the paint at all. Would be very interested in making my already white car into a satin one.

Not sure if it comes in clear and yes it can be washed like normal according to my friend who has done it.
He's processed it and taken it off like I said before with no damage to the paint.

Just watched a few videos and it seems absolutely harmless. Looks like it works great for rims! Any idea what the life of the finish is? I can't imagine its very durable on something like a wheel...

I'd love to do this, but the thought of spraying some $8.00 stuff all over my Porsche worries me a bit. Need some confirmation that it will do no damage to my paint, even after sitting in the sun and whatnot.

I wasn't a huge fan of Fonzie's car when it was matte black, but I'm loving the new matte white look. My only concern is long term effects, seems like everything short term has worked out fine though. Good news is you have someone close that has experience with it, I'd say go for it!
