Arrow 16th Annual Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance (2011)

Our friends at Automotive Addicts were on Scene at Amelia Island Councours this year and got tons of great coverage. Establishing great relationships with other Automotive Enthusiasts is the key to a great forum. Awesome work guys.

This year’s Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance was a big hit. The many highlights were this year’s honorary chairman Bobby Rahal and all of the participating timeless vehicles found on the Ritz-Carlton lawn.

Some of the more notable modern day vehicles in the luxury and exotic realm were from Mereceds-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Aston Martin, Jaguar, Maserati, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Cadillac, Infiniti and Bentley. A wide array of classics dominated the field from the likings of Bugatti, Duesenberg, Rolls Royce, Allard, Cadillac, Lincoln, Chevrolet, Kurtis, Packard, Plymouth, Tucker and several others totaling to over 300 cars in all.

For 2011 the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance benefited Community Hospice of Northeast Florida Inc. Other charities and vendors were on hand to commemorate this truly remarkable event.

Thanks for the pictures. That was really fantastic and nice pictures too. I just love vintage cars especially this one. Hood ornaments began appearing shortly after automobiles started to be mass produced. Owners would decorate or individualize their vehicles by topping the radiator cap with small metal figures. The most famous of all hood ornaments was the Rolls-Royce Spirit of Ecstasy — or the Flying Lady — dating from 1911. René Lalique's elegant act-deco glass hood ornaments are seen as the crown jewelry of collectible car accessories. Collectors will soon have a rare chance to buy a complete set of 30 Lalique "mascots." I read that idea here Rare set of hood ornaments go to auction.
