Thanks for all the reply's. Would the maintenance on the GTI be way more then say the RSX? Are the GTI's easy to work on (oil change, tune up, etc.) Are the parts for the maintenance easy to get (autozone carry?)

Can you please give a little more info on what your needs are. Do you have a family and need room for kids etc? 4 door or 2 door? stuff like that.

I have a 06 VW Passat (family car) with the 2.0t. Its a cracking motor even when its mated with the 6 speed auto. the DSG is supposedly heaps better, but they have had some issues with them.

Be sure to check out VW vortex forums for more info.

If i didnt need the space i would have chosen the GTI

BTW The 2.0t are pretty cheap to tune and get more power too

I have a family but we have a '10 Honda Pilot to haul the family. I would probably go with the 2dr. GTI is sounding and looking good. Thanks

GTI for sure. I have a passat 2.0T and the engine is solid, never had a problem with the car. Services at the dealership were always quick and painless, so i would definitely recommend a VW.

WRX is #1 on my list... finding one in FL that hasn't been raped is hard.
