A lot of good choices noted - '05 and '06 997 Carreras are out there for $40k or less. That's a damn fine car. Z06 Vette will also provide a ton of bang for the buck as will E46 M3 which are available in the low 20's (a GREAT amount of performance for the dollar IMO).

With $45k you can choose between a lot of cars!
Surely Porsche 996 Turbo or 996 GT3 MKI, maybe 996 GT3 MKII too .
A Cayman S MKI or Boxster S.
For a BMW E46 M3 takes less than 45k ! BMW 335i or 135i, lighter than 3 series!
Corvette Z06 or Viper used
Maserati GrandSport
Maybe a Audi RS4 B7 with V8 engine
Lotus Exige S

so i think i have made up my mind... my void warrenty 08 335i and void warrenty 08 750i will be sold, and i ordered the new F10 5 series which are now in the port at Brunswick Georgia to be released early june. the 7 and my quest for a new car were a trade off for the 5 series, and also i am looking for a lifted Nissan Titan for my businesses. now for the 335i i think i will use that trade for either an E46 M3, or a lotus elise. thanks everyone who put in some input really helped.
andddd when i get bored of one of these in a year 996TT BABY!!!

congrats man, i've seen a few F10's around here and they look really really nice, and from what i've read they are fantastic.

New BMW 5 series is amazing! More beautiful than previous one (which already was very nice). I wonder how will be the new M5. Probably turbo...
