Let this be a lesson to anyone in managment that allows employees to skirt the system for financial gain. If you either actively or passively allow ehtically questionable behavior because it makes money for the store it will eventually catch up to you.
Other employees see managment looking the other way for these guys and are disgusted- you will loose many good employees that make your business money everyday and build a health brand to coddle these suckless loosers that "make you money" on one or two big hits.
Customers will see it and will take their business elsewhere. For every 1 "golden goose" that they pluck you will likely loose 5 good customers that could have been repeat customers bringing you business and referals for years to come.
And just like this woman- just because you got that person out of the store after you raped them don't think they aren't going to start talking to people about the deal and figure out that you screwed them. And the auto industry statistic goes- if you give someone good service they will tell 4 people- if you give them bad service they will tell 10. In this case now that it's hit the internet it is probably 10 million. Mazda had no choice but to sever ties.
These salesmen obviously took advantage of this woman in a horrible way that is most likely a magnifying glass of how they live their lives. They deserve every ounce of shame, embarassment, punishment and fines they get from this. The owner is also guilty for allowing people like this to represent him and manage his company. You don't work that closely with someone and not know their ethics but again I'm sure its been overlooked throughout the years in the name of a few dollars and now it will cost him x10. This deal will cost him millions of dollars in legal fees, fines, lost profits, and the incalculable loss of public image which is critical to a dealership. He could loose his other dealerships because of this from loss of business
Ethics are invaluable. They don't get you rich quick but they keep your life rich.Last edited by Sean1; 05-17-2010 at 01:11 PM.
