2009 Nissan GTR vs. 2007 Corvette Z06

Our shop is having a friendly head to head battle with our partners at Lashway Motorsports in doing a Supercar vs Supercar, Import vs. Domestic battle! We will be doing all the visual mods and performance mods to showcase our talents and work in a friendly match that should turn heads. The battle is not only who's the fastest but who looks good while doing it.

It all started when I purchased my GTR and my good friend Erik, owner of Lashway Motorsports bought a Z06. Bone stock I ran a 11.83 1/4 mile vs the Z06 with Kooks headers as it's only mod at 11.97 1/4 mile. And so the rivalry begins, lol friendly of course.

Here's the build list getting done as we speak:

-Our custom 10 second performance package: EMISHIN 3" intakes, downpipes, midpipes, 4" cat-back, GFB BOV's, custom tune, 1000cc injectors, fuel system.

'Cause a GTR is so apples to apples with a Z06. I'm sure this will be a cool thread to watch, I just wish the vehicle selection was more balanced from the get go. A ZR1 or a new Viper would be more apples to apples. I hope this is taken into account during the performance side of this competition, while I love and prefer manual transmissions, sequential double clutch transmissions do impact drag races. In order for it to be fair, initial drag races should be staggered.

please tell me you were drunk when you wrote that... it does not make sense at all.

staggered start would defeat the entire purpose of a drag race..... its "run what ya brung"... not "make it fair for cars with older tech"

its just a couple of friends having a friendly competition with similarly priced cars... although it would be more fun to see them run the mile together, but i dont think there are any more miami mile events anymore

Ok, I'm thinking more about the true potential of the GTR vs the Z06 and what kind of class they would fall into. At the same power level, the GTR will always come out on top if both cars have the same type of tires and are driven by similarly experienced drivers.

On an unrelated topic, I don't understand the license plate. Why a bunch of P's?

would the GTR loose any rear downforce, due to the spoiler being removed?
