Is Ferrari really as it once was?
I have been a Ferrari fan since I was about six. So over thirty years now. I have been in the market for my first exotic car the last few months. Taking my time to find what I want under my budget of $50,000.
As I have looked at my options in ferrariland I have realized that the cars they used to make really had a charm to them. The new ones... In my opinion not so much. They are big cars and their styling just seems uninspired. The 599 and the 458 I like. The ff is the ugliest car I swear they have ever made. No offense if you own one. Everyone has their own tastes which I respect.
The 458 while it is fast and overall bad a55 just doesn't do it for me. I like it as I said...but don't love it. At cars and coffee a few weeks ago a guy had one and I just didn't glaze over looking at it as I have models in the past. I wish I could.
The point of this is that it seems like more people flocked to the Noble M400 than the Ferrari. So I ask... Are they really what they were? Or have they become entirely too mainstream and unspecial compared to other makers?Last edited by Drftfan; 06-23-2012 at 03:33 PM.

No offense, 308, mondial, 328, 348, 355 and testarossas are all in the 50 range or below. And they are all decent ferraris. And proper mid engined.

Is Ferrari really as it once was?
In my opinion, they won't be once they mass market a sedan or SUV. Which is why Maserati exists.

Fixed.
But I have to say in the looks dept, the 458 is a stunner. Everything else that tingles the senses, scud hands down. One prime example: When you have your foot down on the pedal alongside a 458, the noise from the scud drowns whatever fart comes out of a 458.
If you want a GT the 458's great I guess, if you want a Ferrari w/ passion it won't do much for you.
