I sold my ~700rwhp Cobra a few weeks back and used it as a daily driver for awhile.

I can't think of many other cars that can drive around with that much power and still be under 30k with pretty low miles. Not to mention, still have full interior, A/C, Radio, etc...

Reading all the posts in this thread made me laugh. Let's back up and re-read this part of the OP [below]. Audi's and BMW's, not exotic unless you are talking about a R8 or Z8. Those don't fall into this price range. Corvettes, not exactly exotic and you'll see at least one every day in a large city. If you go with a C2 or C3 Vette, those you don't see every day. But, those don't fall under modern performance. The Viper and 911 would be my choice for cheap exotic performance if you buy an early model. Tons of fun, not exactly what you see every day but not exotic, a '05-'09 GT500 would be a great ride. I'm not sure about Lotus value but what I do know is that if you haven't been inside a Lotus, don't buy one. Those cars aren't for everyone as they can get pretty cramped for a large guy. I don't know how tall you are, but that is something to think about. Some people will buy a car long distance without actually getting inside it, a Lotus is not one if those cars you buy long distance first time.
