RIDICULOUS taxes. if im not mistaken, any car that has a msrp of over ~50k (maybe 70k) has a 50% luxury tax added to it. so if it cost $400k to begin with, itll be over $600k after taxes. yeah its a bunch of bullshit, primary reason why i wont continue to live here after university.

Yes. ok maybe it's not my primary reason, primary reason would be because i'm american so i want to go back there, but considering i want to have a car tuning company one day as well, it's extra incentive to be where your audience is largest and product cheapest.

Fair enough, but on the otherhand you will also have more competition.

Props to you for wanting to start up a tuning business. Hope you can realise ur dream.

Honestly, the US is great and I loved the three weeks I was there, but it doesn't seem to be too safe to live there. I'm sure there is good areas and bad. Maybe I'm just to scarred from watching cops?

The actual break down is 33% on top of the GST inclusive price (GST is 10%), then you have to add stamp duty (varies between states in Aus) and any dealer delivery charges and registration.

As for the US. I'd love for the opportunity to move over there once I'm finished studying at the end of the year. The cost of living just night and day compared to here in Brisbane. Plus I love the car culture over there with exotics.

Thank you. And obviously there are tons of bad areas, just like there are here in Australia, but there are places where the biggest criminal activity to happen is someone jay-walking. So if you make decent money you can live in a nice neighborhood no problem.

Ah, thanks for clearing that up, i knew it was some high number just didn't know the exact one.
Yeah that's something I really miss, the car culture here, even in rich Sydney is just non existent. You've got the JDM and holden/ford guys, but no one with any exotics has any club or anything, its such a shame.
