Hate to see a good car go... but at least it was the rear suspension and not the passenger door. Glad to hear no one was hurt! Keep us posted on the replacement!

I hope she realized that she hit a supercar. Sorry for your car man.

I know right. I thought about the timing as well. I'm definitely glad everyone walked away, but I wouldn't want to be in her shoes.
Thank you! I think she will definitely have a story to tell. Her insurance company will probably drop her after this incident.
Thank you! Lol at the commercial.
Thanks! That's what is important.
Yeah, as I said she is definitely an idiot! If she would have been paying attention, this thread wouldn't exist and I would happily have my R8 sitting downstairs. I agree with you on the terminology. However, everything today is called an accident. Florida has the no-fault law either. An investigation by insurance will show the results though. She's definitely not in a good position right now. I'm just glad we are all ok.
Thanks! I actually saw it coming out of the corner of my eye and arranged my R8 so it wouldn't hit the passenger door. I guess the track experience helped. I will definitely keep you guys posted.
I think she did. Let's say she had a real nice close-up of my car. Thanks.2010 Audi R8 5.2

you and your SO are very lucky that the truck didn't hit the passenger door. she could have been hurt.
the axles are very strong and will knock the wheels loose to give. that is a strong impact given the contact points on the truck.
if you already have the GTR, why not use that as daily and get a GT3 for weekends. if you have to daily your new car, i would suggest turbo instead or upgrade to a v10 r8.
happy holidays and remember, the best gift is health.

Sorry to hear that man! Such a beautiful car! Probably another texting and driving incident. That impact must have hurt though, huge fucking crash. Good that you're okay!!

Thank you so much! As I said above, I saw it coming at the last second and moved my car so she hit me farther back and not the passenger door. My GTR has way too much power and modifications to comfortably drive everyday. Over 700 hp and the fumes get to you after a while, lol! I'm still young and don't mind the rough ride of the GT3. I am, however, looking at Turbos and R8s as well. We will see. I'm open to other ideas as well. Definitely want something exotic and fun. Happy holidays to you as well and I couldn't agree more!

Thanks man! I appreciate that. I didn't even think that maybe she was texting and driving. The impact wasn't too bad as I set the car up so it would send us into a spin and not produce as much impact as a direct hit. We spun around 3 or 4 times before coming to a stop. Both my girlfriend and I walked away with no injuries. Thanks!

Too bad for your car, but most important is, that noone was hurt.
