With a few re-plugs it works but NOW it doesn't recognize ANY ipod, iphone. It even fvcked up my ipod function on my phone..the screen just goes blank...L4P fam must have some experiences with this crap!! AUX plugs are ftw

Personally I've never had any issues with the AMI. I love it.

My iPod freezes once in a great while but a quick reset later I'm running smooth again.

I have a B8 S4 also and have never had a problem with it. Had it in my B7 A4 and it performed flawlessly as well...

In my S4 the MMI and my iPod do not get along. Every other time I shut the car off it soft resets my iPod to the very first song on the first playlist. Fvck it pissed me off.

Thank Jesus Christ himself for Electric Area, BPM and Sirius satellite radio. I haven't used my iPod since I activated my receiver.

I'm not having any problems with my iPhone and MMI, but I'm always hesitant to apply new updates to the phone.

My 2008 A5 started to have sporadic issues the first year but was somewhat infrequent. My VAG COM spotted a few instances but nothing really bad; but about a year ago, it began to be more frequent and by this summer, I lost my MMI - no radio, no NAV, no iPod, no Blue Tooth.. I printed out my VAG-COM diagnostics and showed them what the problem was and it turned out to be a bad iPod interface to the MMI. It is a unit that's only made in Germany so I waited over a month to get it (it has a fiber optic link to it from what I was told.) So far, I've had no further problems for the last 3 weeks. May want to find a local user with a VAG-COM to print out the diag. and then have them look a the iPod interface itself.

Which adaptor do you have? Audi has 2 different ones. That could be the issue. More info in this link. I Am Audi | The Standard for #Audi | Artcles I Models I Video I Pictures – Audi iPod Adapter Cable – MMI & AMI
