    Default looking at a 2000 a4

Just need another work beater, that is awd and a little cleaner then the jeep. It tends to get filled with mud, and I would like a car for when I have to go to a decent job.

Found a few 2000s a4, and just wanted to know what to look for. Would probably end up modding it at some point too.

    thanks

How many miles? there could be a number of things. A few quick things I can think of... Cracked upper link bushings, coolant leak at ect flange, cracked crankcase vent hoses, propshaft seal leak. If you find one you consider buying ask to take it to a dealer for a Pre-purchase inspection.

looking to spend like 6k on it, as its for work(construction).

want it for when driving the jeep is not needed, but awd is nice with chicago.

I am also looking at an s4, and an a6. might spend more on them. Found a few 2000-2003

Timing belts, control arms, wheel bearings, tie rod ends, oil leaks, abs modules, the list goes on and on....

Do a bit of research, as they are known for nickle and dimeing their owners

My S4 had all of those issues. It is best to go get it inspected before you buy. With age, comes problems. But it isn't really a big deal, they are truly great cars.

This says it. I had one... it was a great car, but ended up costing way too much in maintenance.

    And 6K seems way high for a 2000 A4.
