Default AUDI S4 talk to me

    How good are these ?

Been using my passat estate for alot of house renovation stuff, taking stuff to the tip etc, and when its loaded down its sluggish, only 150hp standard.

I can solve this with a K04 but im worried about lag due to lack of displacement.

So I am thinking about upgrading to a B5 S4 or possible a B6 S4, although all the v8 ones i have heard dont seem deep enough (exhaust tone) compared to an RS4.

    Any comments?!
And this here, is my fourty five...

Personally, Id go with a B6. The 4.2 V8 is a little more reliable than the Bi-Turbo motor found in the B5. Theres no real major problems associated with S4s. Just the normal little stupid things that wear out over time.

I have a b5 S4. I have test driven a newer S4... I ended up getting the b5 because it has more potential. the feel of the turbos kicking in is way better than the N/A b6 and b7.... but i dont know about the brand new turbo v6 ones. ON THE EXHAUST NOTE>

If you are modding, then B5 TT motor is king. Otherwise, B6 is great.

    Here's my B6 V8 exhaust note:

I still enjoy driving my B6 from time to time. As of late, the gf has been driving it daily and it is a still a great running vehicle for almost 90k on the clock. My old k04 B5 was a fun car to drive, but let me down on too many occasions to count. The B5 has the power potential in its favor, but thats about it. It is a dated design, inside and out. Not to mention that the reliability goes out the window once you start seriously modding. The GT and RS6 Hybrid turbo'ed B5's make some serious power but are nothing but trouble from a reliability standpoint. Having owned a B5/B6 and driven the new B8, the B8 is by far the best of the three hands down. Tuners are going to be making a lot of power with this new motor within the next year, and it will be much more reliable than the B5 ever was. Bottom line is, if you are going to DD the car and have the means to purchase the B8, you won't be disappointed. The only reason to go with a B5 over a B8 would be the price. If a B8 is in your budget, there is no reason to go with the B5 as it is an inferior daily driver IMO. Hell, I would have went with the B8 S4 over the A7 if I didn't have the S5.
