    Thumbs up HRE Wheels And Gumpert's Blue Beast

    As most of you know, the Gumpert Apollo is a hand-built German supercar using a bi-turbo Audi V8, so we thought you would enjoy a look at the latest "S" version of this beast. The S model makes 100 horsepower more than the original which brings it up to an incredible 750 hp. With a top speed over 220mph and 0-60 in under 3 seconds, the loads and G-forces exerted by the Gumpert are stunning, which is why they rely on serious, race-proven, TUV approved hardware.

    After meeting the Gumpert team in Monaco and after visiting Gumpert’s facility in Germany, Gumpert visited HRE in San Diego to discuss the need for a lightweight forged wheel for the Apollo S. The requirements were simple, they needed to be lightweight and they needed to stand up to the Nurburgring. Their words went something like this, “Unlike in America, Germans can actually drive their cars 200mph for long distances on the Autobahn going to and from the track. Your wheels need to be able to handle this type of regular abuse.” HRE has been with Gumpert since the beginning and we've continued to provide our private label Monobloks for both Gumpert models. These particular wheels are in a satin black finish. Hope you guys like this beauty as much as we do!
