My A4 is a B6 (produced the last month before they started making the B7), and that button is only to check like average mileage, current gas consumption... Dunno if that changes with the current A6, but it could be because Dutch (our mother tongue) is not a standard language for the car and my dad really wanted it. Mine is in english, so no need to change that

can't say about the A3 though, gotta wait 'till Sprite solves this mystery

Our old 08' A3 could change the language through the MFA.
Our 10' GTI can change the language through the MFA.
I dont know about earlier cars.

Was able to change the language through the menu. Liking the car a lot so far for a DD. Parking is pretty tight here with lots of cramped street parking and fuel is $7/gallon so needed something small with good gas mileage. Glad I went with the DSG.
