Default R8 + HRE + TPMS from stock wheels

    Hi everyone,

I just purchased a set of 20" P40s for my R8. I am having trouble getting the TPMS sensor in to the HRE wheels. What is the best solution to get my sensors in to the wheels?

I tried putting the valve stem set (with TPMS) from the stock wheels in to the HREs, but they do not seem to fit. As for now, I am just driving my car with the TPMS light on the dash.

Is there a way to turn off the TPMS function. My friend has the Audi tool, and we read from somewhere about removing the TPMS fuse. Does anybody know which fuse it is specifically? What is the best solution to my problem?

The car is a 2010 R8 V10, UK spec, located in Thailand.

    Thanks in advance.

I can't answer your question..... but DAMN, that looks GOOD!!

Try contacting Wheels Boutique. I know they have done a bunch or R8's with HRE

Mine were taken off my stock wheels and put into my HRE's (M40's) as well. Any reputable shop should be able to do this without any problem....

Thanks for the all the compliments. I was told by the tire shop where I purchased my wheels to just switch the valve stems as well (Sonic MS, Nor Cal). The local shops here in Bangkok are probably scared to switch the valves, since it requires a little bit of adjustment. They said that they're afraid that they will crack the sensors if they push the valve stem in too hard. They also said that the rubber bushings may also cause air leaks.

I figured that everyone around the world is doing it, there should not be any problems.

P.S. Here's another small quick pic I got tagged via facebook yesterday.
