    The guy driving the manual is also a hell of a driver. Listen to how quick his shifts are? Also, I bet there would be a huge difference in outcome if they started from a dig.

    Probably. But the R-tronic shifts itself right before the redline. Pretty much idiot proof.

    this. i bet he has more fun with the 6MT as well.

    I don't really understand this whole shift towards flappy paddle gearboxes. this video kinda contradicts the idea behind the paddle gearboxes being faster.

    ^ In one sense, perhaps. I think however, the key point of the "flappy paddles" is that the AVERAGE person can experience lightning fast and, most importantly, consistent shifts. Of course it's possible to shift quite fast and smoothly with a conventional gearbox, but how many laymen would be able to shift like this guy on a regular basis?

    well thats kind of the idea of a fast sports car/ super car. i understand that these e gear semi autos are quick and whatnot, and more for everyone, but isn't the point of driving these cars to feel engaged and "one with the car"

    i suspect mods and weight are factors in play.
