Speechless, but then not shocked, stories like these are the norm down here in Newport. Amazing is not the word to describe it anymore, especially when you see a 16-18 year old get behind the wheel of an exotic or high end car that moomy and daddy bought. I've seen Bentleys, Lambos, Ferraris driven by these youngsters and you start to think to yourself, if these parents were smart in making money, aren't they smart enough in protecting there families?

    Porsche TT for dad

    Panamera Turbo for mom

Audi R8 V10 for 16 year old son.

Here is where it is funny and not responsible for the parent in my eyes. This will be his first car, no real driving experience as of yet. Mom told him he better not get a ticket or speed, and she felt the "governor" will keep his speed within reason. I asked my friend to PLEASE send them to a local track where I know the driving school instructor so they can teach him to drive and not kill himself.

Funny though, he talked his mom into getting him the V10 over the V8.

If he had experience like say, Marco Andretti I wouldn't say a thing... but this is NOT the case.. the kids needs an A4 not R8

Didn't realize there's V10 available on the local lots. May be it will be for sale soon when the kid realizes the car is too much for him.

You know good and well as soon as his parents let him take the car out on his own, he is gonna call his friends and go wild because mommy and daddy bought him a expensive car. He's going to feel the urge to "test it out". We've all been there. I'd be willing to bet he gets a ticket within the first few weeks. I hope a ticket anyway. I really don't want to hear about the kid getting hurt or hurting a innocent person on the Internet/News because of his AND his parents lack of common sense.

A salesman at Porsche-Audi Nashua was telling my dad and I a similar story a few years ago. Apparently a guy bought his 16 year old grandson the new (at the time) R8 v8. Hopefully his good taste in cars will also lead to him going to a track to really test it out, but i guess that seems somewhat doubtful.
