Default Looking to do some work on my 2006 A4!

I have a 2006 A4 and looking to do some upgrades myself. What would anybody recommend to do first? I heard that a chip is a good idea and maybe an intake. Im trying to avoid paying someone else to do it. Any recommendations of parts? I guess my over all goal is to gain horsepower and torque.

don't bother with an intake, just get a k&n filter. i would do a chip, test pipe and exhaust.

Yep... and don't forget to upgrade the suspenion so you can keep your momentum through turns, not just in a straight line.

Carbonio intake and Apr software, full exhaust, coils or springs and you will need an upgraded diverter valve if you do the chip the stock valve will rip and youll loose all your horsepower.

yes suspension and brakes are always a good idea, the install can be a little beyond the average DIY'r. it was the first mod in my a4 though...
stay away from the carbonio intake...its a proven horsepower loss..look at some of the old audi race cars...they have stock airbox's with a drop in filter....the apr software is good but on the tame side..there are defiantly more aggressive tunes out there.

Is it really? I have it in my A4 and have heard about that.

Also OP - I'd recommend starting with some form of intake and then putting a chip (GIAC is what I have) assuming you have 2.0T.
