The GoPro HD is 10x better than the standard GoPro...however, the square case causes buffeting at speeds AND the colors are very flat.
For the same money, the Contour HD is much better for on car action. GoPro's case, however, resists water a little better.

No, I got the regular Go-Pro.
Aside from the jerkiness, sound is muted a bit too much. Here is a Youtube Upload of my Cobra up on hwy 35:

Ok, problem #1. I assume you used Windows Movie Maker to output your file?
Most people don't know this, but when outputting a file/movie for YouTube, only certain programs allow you to "up" the bandwidth/resolution settings.
I don't think iMovie allows it, I KNOW Windows Movie Maker doesn't so that could be part of the problem with the resolution.
Problem #2: filming into direct sunlight would give any camera fits.
Problem #3: Their lens is horrible. The nose of the car looks like it's pointed at the sky.
Final summation: if the Go Pro was $89 fine, but if it's more than that, there are better options.

Craig:
I used some freeware called "Pixela ImageMixer 3" which came with a Hitachi DVD Video Recorder from a couple of years back.
The quality of the "original" is really far better than what you see on YouTube. I could not get better quality beyond the "standard" rate.
What do you recommend for outputting the final product onto the media providers like YouTube?
