Decision: R8 GT 155/307 over Superleggera
Hey been quite a while since my last post but I got exciting news, however need some opinions from the community. I just recently went to my local Lamborghini dealership to order my Aventador. There is an Arancio Atlas ready to ship from a nearby warehouse but I rather not pay $75,000 over MSRP for something, a color in particular, I do not want. Just my luck a Nero Pegaso (Glossy Black) is already in the works and will be arriving in late June/early July. Wrote a $35,000 deposit check and secured my 1st place slot for the car!
Meanwhile in the other showroom a Nero Superleggera caught my eye and I couldn't resist, I wrote a another check immediately and was looking forward to taking my car home. Nonetheless the car has been recalled and the planetary gears needed to be replace. Just got an update today that the parts will arrive at the end of the week and it will take another 5-7 days for the service to complete. Bummer...yea I'm quite frustrated I couldn't take her home right away so I kept myself busy. Rewinding back to after the test drive a Dolphin Gray R8 GT #155 just stared at me. Wasn't too interested at first but when I walked into the show room R8 GT #307 begged me to take her home. They were asking $300,000 EVEN for the car & I kept that in mind being a huge Audi fan all my life & been wanting an R8. I left the dealership with plenty of thoughts and returned the next day to test drive the R8 GT. Still recovering from my LP570-4 SL fever my expectations were low for the R8 GT, but HOOOOOOOTDAM did it surprise me! Asking price is $201,000 but they cut me a loyalty deal for $199,000 LMAO...
Keeping in mind that I haven't driven the Superleggera off the lot yet.
My questions are:
R8 GT 155: 1 Owner, 3000 Miles, Nutek Wheels, Everything blacked out, $199,000 over $300,000 R8 GT 307?
or Vice Versa.
I also planned on keeping my Superleggera but I know the R8 GT practically has the Gallardo Engine sitting in it. So should I just let the Superleggera go and get the GT? or Keep both?
Money is not an issue this is where logic and practicality stumps me.

Sounds like a good problem to have.
My thoughts, since you are already getting the Aventador....skip on the lambo and get the GT. Something a little different, but not too far off from the lamborghini. NOW, do you pay a premium for the Orange one..It's not worth 100k more than the gray one.
Get the gray one. Dump those nutek wheels for some HRE's or stock.

Wow, you must be really local (el co shopping center)
Regardless of what you decide to do, as it's really up to you, I can't wait to see these cars around on the road. All of them are amazing.

Get the gray R8 GT (not worth 100k for a color), and the SL, and when you get the aventador trade one of them in for the aventador.
as you said- both the R8 GT and SL have the same engine, so by owning both until you get the aventador, you will get a good feel of which you will want to keep once you get the aventador. NO need for both unless by the time you get the aventador you like both the R8 and SL so much you want to keep both, and test driving both a bunch of times won't give you nearly the same feel as owning both at the same time.
also- the gray GT clearly already took the majority of the hit of the depreciation, which makes it great to pickup, instead of picking up the 300k R8 and potentially dumping it however many months later and lose the 100k price difference if not more...Last edited by jacx9200; 02-21-2012 at 02:20 PM.

Wow, that's a tough decision. Honestly, all of those cars are in my top 5. If money really isn't an issue, I say hold onto the GT! That is an amazing car and if you get bored, get rid of it after a year. I can't see it depreciating too much since it's a GT.
You are VERY local to me. I'd love to meet up sometime and check out the beasts!ADV.1

That orange GT #307 is listed at $233k on the Auto Gallery's website. They're asking for another $70k over sticker?
I was at the showroom last weekend checking out that car #307. If it were me and I could afford it then I would buy it. The amount of detail work and craft put into that car really stood out to me. I've seen pretty much every supercar there is up close and personal, and the GT stands out for all of the small things that set it apart. A lot of time and effort and thought was put into assembling it and it shows.Last edited by FStop7; 02-22-2012 at 10:21 PM.

GT's can be had at sticker ALL DAY long. Maybe even less with some good negotiating. I've not heard anyone having to pay a penny over.
EARNED, AND NOT GIVEN....

You bought an Aventador and a Superleggera in the same day, AND you're considering an R8 GT on top of that? Jesus.
