Would you buy a V8 vantage if it were your only car?
I'm looking for info mainly from owners of these cars. I'm contemplating going two very different routes by buying either a Nissan GTR or a used AMV8 (automatic I"m lazy) as my next car, however I don't see the point in paying for insurance/mods/registration on more than one car. So that being said would you buy an AMV8 if it were your only car?

I have considered the AMV8 multiple times when looking for a daily driver. I ended up choosing the Audi R8, which is in a very similar price range. I also have the GTR, which is modified to the fullest (mechanically speaking) and I would not want to drive that every day.
The concern I have with Aston Martin is reliability. I have heard lots of different things from owners. Some AM owners tell me they have never had one issue while others can't seem to get their car out of the shop.
In the end, I probably would do a Vantage if I found the right one (which is why I chose yes on the poll above), but I am so glad I went with my R8.2010 Audi R8 5.2

I was trying to decide between the Vantage, Turbo, and R8 for a while. I heard the usual horror stories about reliability and one dealer scared me with clutch maintenance. But another guy said that the V8 is what people get after their fifth Porsche, although I do sort of doubt that seeing that it can't even keep up with a C2S, let alone a Turbo. I bought my Turbo from an Aston dealer and it was one of their favorite cars there. In the end, it was pretty easy to rule it out and only consider the R8 and Turbo though, much faster and as easy/easier to live with. I got the Turbo because I'm a Porsche guy and maintenance looked a little cheaper than an R8, but all three are stellar machines.

I like the R8 also, its actually a good blend of performance/style and is a great middle ground between the AM and GTR, I was leaning towards the AM because it seems a bit more exotic to me. Its funny I went to a wedding today and an AM pulled up next to me, so beautiful!
If I were to get the GTR it would be lightly modded with a few bold ons nothing crazy. I don't mind a harsher ride, my ISF isn't exactly buttery smooth, although in general the roads in in az are pretty good.
I do drive about 300 miles a week and I do drive my car every day so I really am looking for something reliable. High maintenance costs don't bother me, its the frequency of maintenance that will need to be done that is more worrisome. Also my only fear with the Aston is that it is "slow" and I have that need for speed.
That is assuring to hear
I heavily considered the turbo as well but in the end I just wasn't in love with the styling and the interior seemed a bit old fashioned for my personal tastes. The GTR isn't beautiful either but the tech would keep me amused. But the P-car is definitely great in terms of performance/reliability.09 GTR

Post-Ford (08+) Astons are supposed to be pretty bullet proof. The only people with problems on a Vantage for the most part have an earlier model.

I just saw a post on here today, that said the side mirror on the Vantage says Volvo underneath. I don't know if it's true or not and I haven't Googled it yet.
