Watching Casion Royale for hundreth time and noticed...
That Bond was driving a DBS in the 2006 remake of the film. Does this mean that the DBS has been out 5 years in the UK, despite it only being out since 2009 in the US???

I believe, and some experts may correct me, but the DBS was created FOR the film, and was put into production after it got so much attention in the movie. So the car wasn't in production till after the release. When production started, I couldn't tell you.
On a side note, I'm watching it on universal hd right now.

It probably was a prototype which is coming into production or will be available in a year. This happens a lot. And if I am correct usually aston martin makes their vehicle available in the usa 1 - 2 years after it has be released. Like we just got the v12 vantage.

Not that it compares... but remember when Pierce drove that little BMW 'roadster' way back when? Same deal... didn't hit the streets for couple of years afterward.
I know...not the same... but in the same situation.

Come on guys, the Franchise is big, but not "We're getting Aston Martin to produce a model only for one movie" big.
The DBS already was a model produced by Aston Martin during 1967-72 and was simply re-introduced as a DB9 facelift if you will.
Simply google Aston Martin DBS guys:

R8 in I robot, Camaro in transformers and a number of other examples exist of pre-market protos before they are ready. I have watched CR a million times also and if you notice the interior is quilted and the gear shift has red numbers. There are a couple of other deviations that didn't make it to the car for market. In fact, I inquired about the stitched alcantara and was told it couldn't even be ordered as bespoke.
